How To Protect Your Child from Pollutants in Foodreasons

One of the most effective ways to reduce exposure to and protect your child from the pollutants in food is to give certified organic food. Organic foods reduce the risk of exposure to the pollutants that my be present in conventionally-grown foods and thus, help minimize the risk of childhood health harms associated with the exposure to these pollutants.

What is Organic?

Organic simply means that artificial processes (genetic engineering, artificial growth hormones and prophylactic use of antibiotic) and harmful substances (pesticide residues) are not used in the production of food.

  • organic means that there are no genetically modified ingredients used
  • organic means that no chemicals are used to kill bugs and weeds, pesticides used were natural
  • organic means food were not exposed to radiation to sterilize food
  • organic means no artificial additives nor preservatives were used to keep fresh food unnaturally longer
  • organic means no routine use of antibiotics nor artificial growth hormones were injected into the animals
